How to Upload Your Resume to Threads

Job Search

Why Upload Your Resume?

Uploading your resume to Metaintro transforms your job search from a general query into a deeply personalized experience. When the AI has access to your resume, it can analyze your skills, experience, education, and career trajectory to deliver job matches that are specifically relevant to your qualifications — not just the keywords you type.

This means better matches, fewer irrelevant results, and a faster path to finding the right opportunity.

How to Upload Your Resume

There are two ways to upload your resume to Metaintro. Both are quick and straightforward.

Option 1: From the Homepage Chat Bar

  1. Go to the Metaintro homepage.

  2. Look for the upload button in the chat bar at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Click the upload button and select your resume file from your device.

  4. The file will be uploaded and the AI will begin analyzing it immediately.

  5. Start typing your job search query, and your results will be tailored to your resume.

Click the upload button to attach your resume

Option 2: Start a New Thread

  1. Click the new conversation button to start a fresh Thread.

  2. Use the attachment or upload option within the Thread to add your resume file.

  3. The AI will confirm that your resume has been received and processed.

  4. Continue the conversation with your job search criteria for personalized results.

Both options produce the same result — your resume is analyzed and used to enhance the quality of your job matches.

Accepted File Formats and Requirements

Before uploading, make sure your file meets these requirements:

  • Supported formats: PDF, DOC, or DOCX

  • Maximum length: 10 pages

  • Content requirement: The file must be an actual resume or CV

What Counts as a Valid Resume?

Your uploaded document should contain standard resume content such as:

  • Contact information

  • Work experience with job titles, companies, and dates

  • Education and certifications

  • Skills and competencies

  • Professional summary or objective (optional but helpful)

The AI uses this information to understand your professional background and match you with roles that align with your qualifications.

What Will Not Work

  • Cover letters, portfolios, or other non-resume documents

  • Scanned images of resumes (the file must contain selectable text)

  • Files exceeding 10 pages

  • Corrupted or password-protected files

What Happens After You Upload

Once your resume is uploaded, the AI processes it in seconds. Here is what happens behind the scenes:

  1. Parsing — The AI extracts key information from your resume, including job titles, skills, years of experience, education, and industry.

  2. Profile enrichment — Your extracted data enhances the AI's understanding of what roles would be a good fit.

  3. Tailored matching — When you search for jobs in that Thread, the results are weighted toward opportunities that align with your actual qualifications.

You do not need to upload your resume in every Thread. However, uploading it in a new Thread helps the AI provide more relevant matches for that specific conversation.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use a clean, well-structured resume — clear section headings and consistent formatting help the AI parse your information accurately.

  • Keep it current — make sure your resume reflects your most recent experience and skills.

  • Use text-based formats — PDFs generated from word processors work best. Avoid scanned image PDFs.

  • Include relevant keywords — industry-specific terms and technologies help the AI match you with the right roles.

  • Combine with specific queries — after uploading, tell the AI exactly what you are looking for. For example: "Based on my resume, find me senior product manager roles in fintech."

Uploading your resume takes just a few seconds but significantly improves the quality of your job matches. Give it a try in your next Thread.
