How to Use the Resume Builder

Job Search

Accessing the Resume Builder

The resume builder is available from your Metaintro dashboard. You can access it in two ways:

  • Click Resume Builder in the left sidebar navigation

  • Start a conversation in Threads and ask Metaintro to help you build a resume

If you have already uploaded a resume to Metaintro, the builder can import your existing information as a starting point. Otherwise, you can begin from scratch or choose a template.

Creating a New Resume

Ask Metaintro to help build your resume

Step 1: Choose a Template

Browse the available templates and select one that fits your industry and career level. Templates range from clean, minimalist designs suitable for corporate roles to more creative layouts for design and marketing positions. You can always switch templates later without losing your content.

Step 2: Add Your Information

Fill in the core sections of your resume:

  • Contact information -- name, email, phone, location, and relevant links

  • Professional summary -- a brief overview of your experience and goals

  • Work experience -- your employment history with descriptions of responsibilities and accomplishments

  • Education -- degrees, certifications, and relevant coursework

  • Skills -- technical and soft skills relevant to your target roles

You can also add optional sections such as projects, volunteer work, languages, and publications.

Step 3: Get AI Suggestions

As you write, the AI analyzes your content and offers suggestions to strengthen your resume. These include:

  • Bullet point optimization -- transforming vague descriptions into specific, impact-driven statements

  • Action verb recommendations -- replacing weak verbs with stronger alternatives

  • Keyword alignment -- suggesting industry-relevant keywords that help your resume pass applicant tracking systems

  • Quantification prompts -- encouraging you to add metrics and numbers to demonstrate your impact

You can accept, modify, or dismiss each suggestion. The AI learns from your choices to provide more relevant recommendations over time.

Editing an Existing Resume

To edit a resume you have already created, open the resume builder and select the resume from your saved documents. All your previous content and formatting will be preserved. You can make edits to any section, reorder content, and request fresh AI suggestions for sections you want to improve.

Tips for Optimizing Your Resume

  • Tailor for each role. Use the AI suggestions to adjust your resume for specific job postings. Highlight the skills and experience most relevant to each position.

  • Keep it concise. Aim for one to two pages. The AI will flag overly long sections and suggest ways to tighten your language.

  • Use consistent formatting. Stick with one template and ensure dates, headings, and bullet styles are uniform throughout.

  • Proofread with AI. The builder checks for spelling, grammar, and formatting inconsistencies so you can submit a polished document.

  • Update regularly. Add new accomplishments and skills as your career progresses. A current resume is always ready when an opportunity arises.

Exporting Your Resume

When you are satisfied with your resume, click the Export button in the top right corner. You can choose from the following formats:

  • PDF -- the most widely accepted format for job applications

  • DOC -- useful when an employer specifically requests a Word document

Exported files preserve all formatting, fonts, and layout exactly as displayed in the builder.

Using Your Resume in Threads

Once you have built a resume in the resume builder, it becomes available for use in Threads conversations. When you search for jobs, Metaintro can reference your resume to provide more accurate job matches and tailor suggestions to your specific qualifications.
